CORPORATE INTERNAL INVESTIGATIONS – COMPLIANCE and RISK MANAGEMENT
The successful reduction of risk to both your enterprise and its bottom line is extremely important – let us help you! Todd Hulsey, a retired senior FBI special agent and experienced lawyer, brings a special expertise in this area. The main focus of the Hulsey Law Firm is Corporate Compliance, specializing in internal corporate investigations.
The decision by the Department of Justice or the Securities and Exchange Commission whether to sue or seek indictment, often hinges on the demonstrated ability of an organization to find and root out internal wrongdoing, mitigate its effects, and take steps to ensure that the wrongdoing will not happen again. THE KEY to the effectiveness and success of a compliance program is a rigorous internal investigations capability.
The Hulsey Law Firm will work with your Board, C-Suite leaders, and your in-house and outside counsel to support your compliance program in order to maximize the efficiency of your business operations and the profitability of your enterprise. We also welcome the opportunity to serve as Of Counsel to your company’s outside counsel, if that best suits your requirements.
PUBLIC SECTOR AGENCY ACCOUNTABILITY
We assist public sector entities such as school districts, special use districts, and municipalities with their internal controls and risk management to ensure public accountability by providing internal investigation services.
There is almost no local government that does not receive federal funds of some kind. With the receipt of federal funds comes the responsibility to effectively manage the risk that those funds may be mishandled. Mishandling of public funds from any source can bring the weight of the United States government down on the collective heads of local government officials.
The Hulsey Law Firm stands ready to be your agency’s inspector general. In addition to performing internal investigations, we can also conduct accountability reviews, risk analysis on internal controls, and other services in support of the proper delivery of public services.
We will work with your governing board or commission, executives, elected officials, and legal counsel to support your agency’s successful operations through risk assessment, risk management, and risk mitigation.
We stand ready to act as your private Independent Counsel. Let us help you!
MEDIATION & ARBITRATION
Why do courts exist? It’s simple. In a civilized society, there has to be a way to settle disputes that does not require bonking the other guy over the head with a big stick. The courts and the legal system give us a way to settle disputes. Really, there is nothing more to it than that.
Mediation is the process where a “neutral third party,” the mediator, helps the parties reach an agreed settlement through a facilitated negotiation. Mediation empowers the parties in a lawsuit to develop their own solution, rather than have one imposed on them by a court.
Attorney Todd Hulsey is a qualified mediator for both civil law and family law cases. Todd has a very reasonable fee schedule. He is also willing to work with lawyers and their clients on special fee arrangements when both necessary and appropriate. Todd does conduct mediations pro bono in certain cases for indigent litigants
When Todd was the Assistant Legal Attache for International Terrorism at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, he helped successfully negotiate U.S. Intelligence access to terrorism suspects held in Saudi prisons. Undoubtedly, he can help you resolve your dispute.
Todd is a certified Better Business Bureau arbitrator and is available for arbitration designations and panel assignments. Todd can also serve as your settlement conference attorney, and as a neutral case evaluator.
